Ozdogan Yilmaz has used 40 seismic gathers to introduce seismic data in is 1989 book “Seismic Data Processing” (revised and expanded in 2001) , pages 30-40. Some matter from the 2001 edition is on the SEG wiki. You can download SU version of the files here
